An Interncontinental Boston Wedding – Jillian & Adam

Jillian and Adam were married a week and a half ago at the Intercontinental Boston. In typical Spring fashion, it was blustery and a touch chilly out, but a gale force wind combined with a nor’easter could not hold back these two. As my first wedding of the summer wedding season, Jillian and Adam have set the bar VERY high for the rest of the year.

I first met Jillian and Adam and Jillian’s sister Jenna’s wedding. The next time was at their engagement session in Boston. It makes perfect sense that these events would crescendo into one epic wedding day celebration!

Chris and I met up with Jillian and Adam as they were getting ready for their day. While they had the largest wedding party that I have every seen (35 people total), the mood as they each got ready was much more intimate that you might expect. We all met up for a first look outside, which, based on the weather, sealed the deal that we were not going to be able to do their family photos outside also. As wedding photographers, we often have to think fast and improvise, and that perfect set of steps for the massive wedding party had to be pushed out of my mind and plan B took over. It all worked out, and we successfully negotiated family and wedding party portraits without incident 🙂

Then it was off to the ketubah signing and  the ceremony, followed by cocktail hour and the reception. Oh the reception! Seldom have I seen such energy from start to finish. Admittedly it helps having one of the very best Boston party bands on stage — Bean Town Band — but Jillian and Adam and their family and friends brought their A-game. The dance floor was packed all night. From the Hora to Jillian stage diving, to brother-in-law Dan belting one out with the band and so many other highlights in between, this was one for the books. Truly a season highlight just one day into it!

It was an honor to spend the day with Jillian and Adam and their families again. I am psyched to share a bunch of my favorite images from the day below. Check ’em out!

Thank you Jillian and Adam for having us along for the wild ride that was your wedding day! I came into the day with high expectations, and they were exceeded on every front! A big thanks to Chris for joining me for the day. It was a marathon one, and it’s always great having you running along side me. Great work also by the following folks…
