A Rivermill at Dover Landing Wedding – Kayla & Jack
May 4, 2018
Two weeks ago Kayla and Jack were married at Rivermill at Dover Landing on what turned out to be a gorgeous Spring day. Rivermill is an old mill building with first floor space turned into industrial chic wedding venue. I love shooting in and around the mill building, with lots of brick and old wood adding great texture and architecture to photographs. Add on top of that a beautiful bride and handsome groom — such as Kayla and Jack — and it is a wonderful contrast of old and new, hard and soft. Love it!
I met up with Kayla and Jack and they were getting ready at the nearby Garrison Hotel. A spent a little time with Jack and his groomsmen before moving down the hall to meet up with Kayla and her bridesmaids. It’s always fun to spend time with couples prior to their ceremony, when energy is high, often punctuated with a little bit of nervous excitement. At the appointed time, we all transitioned into downtown at the Rivermill for the ceremony. While I am a big fan of outdoor ceremonies, Rivermill is one of my very favorite indoor ceremony locations. It’s so beautiful with the brick, old pine floor, and industrial pipes, etc.
After the ceremony, we completed family and group pictures, and had a little time outside for portraits around the exterior of the building. Back inside, intros were done and a few speeches were given. We then were able to sneak off for some portraits around the interior of the mill — my very favorite aspect of the venue. Kayla and Jack were so much fun an easy to work with. It truly was a pleasure spending this time with them on their wedding day.
One of the coolest parts of their wedding, I think, was that they presented guests with a breakfast bar for dinner. Pancakes, omelettes, sausages and all of the fixes. Such a cool idea for a wedding! After dinner the party kicked into high gear. Check out some of my favorite images from their day below…
Kayla and Jack, thank you for having me there to document your wedding day. I had a great time spending the day with you and your family and friends. Great work by the following people:
