A Wentworth by the Sea Hotel Wedding – Melissa & Gino

Melissa and Gino were married on a gorgeous April day at the Wentworth by the Sea Hotel in New Castle, NH. The Wentworth is one of the last few remaining “grand” New Hampshire hotels, and easily one of my favorite seacoast wedding venues.

I met up with Melissa and Gino as they were getting ready for the big day, starting with some of Melissa’s details and make-up prep before tracking down Gino. Gino was hanging out with his best man and his father. As they dressed, I snapped away, finishing with some portraits before heading back to Melissa’s room where her sister was helping her into her gown. The rooms at the Wentworth always have the best light for getting ready!

We all watched eagerly from upstair as guests began to arrive for the garden ceremony. I hadn’t thought about it, but after all of the many weddings I have photographed at the Wentworth, this was the first one in the gardens. It’s such a lovely and private spot, despite being right in front of the hotel, I really enjoyed it. And based on the smiles from Melissa and Gino, it looked like they did too!

Following the wedding ceremony, we knocked out the family pictures before shooting over to the Great Island Common for some portraits. If you want classic, rocky New England coast, this is the most accessible locations around… and it looks fantastic too! We did not have much time before rushing back to the Wentworth, where the reception was about to kick off. And it certainly did that! Rousing introductions were followed by a Horah — which is always amazing — then toasts and dinner. With energy replenished, everyone hit the dance floor, and stayed there until the end of the night!
