A Boston Harbor Hotel Wedding – Caitlin & Michael

I still talk about Caitlin and Michael’s Boston Harbor Hotel wedding with just about every Boston wedding client and prospective client that I have. Sure Caitlin and Michael were awesome, their family and friends were great, everything was gorgeous, and everyone had a wonderful time. But that’s not what made the day so memorable to me. It was riding in the limo van with Caitlin and Michael with a police escort, whisking us across town like celebrities during rush hour in downtown Boston! It was epic!

Chris and I started the day and Caitlin, Michael and their wedding party were getting ready. The energy in the rooms with everyone buzzing about and checking the clock is always fun. With everyone set, we headed over to the church for their ceremony. Our Lady of Perpetual Help is a beautiful church. I LOVE shooting in the grand Boston churches. Following their I-dos, we snuck back into the church for a few portraits at the alter before our epic van ride back to the Hotel. It was awesome as the police yelled for people to get out of the way and blocked intersections, all while motorists and pedestrians must have assumed rock stars were rolling through!

Back the the Boston Harbor Hotel, we dispatched group formals. This was the only part of the day I could have done without. Not because their families weren’t great… they were. But, we were losing light so I setup a flash, which was quickly knocked over by a passerby more focused on their iPhone than where they were going. I guess that’s a pitfall of shooting in public spaces 🙁

Portraits accomplished, and only one flash destroyed in the process, we moved inside for the reception. Big Party Orchestra we warmed up and ready to kick things off as soon formalities and dinner concluded. Check out how it all unfolded below…

Thank you Caitlin and Michael for having us along for the ride — figuratively and literally! A big thanks also to Chris for joining me and for your great images. Excellent work also by the following…
