Katy & Paul: An Eagle Mountain House Wedding // NH Wedding Photographer

Three weeks after photographing Danielle and Jason’s fun wedding I was back in Jackson, NH, making it my third trip to this wonderful town tucked into the White Mountains this season. I love photographing in the Whites, and it had been since Fall 2010 that I last photographed at the Eagle Mountain House, so I was very excited to be back. Throw into the mix wedding dream team members Carrie of Dutch Bloemen Winkle and Sandy of Wedding Daze event planning and coordination and I knew it was going to be a good day. But, the coup de grace was spending the day with Katy, Paul and their adorable two year old daughter Grace! They are such a sweet family, and were so much fun to photograph. Grace certainly attempted to steal the show from mom and dad on more than one occasion, but that only seemed to make the day more special!

David and I arrived at the Eagle Mountain House shortly before Katy returned from Debony Salon, with a somewhat nap-deprived Grace sleeping in her arms…

As they settled Grace in for a nap, I quietly documented some details…

Just a little while later, Grace was up and the show was back on the road…

A highlight was Katy’s gift to her daughter — a bracelet and necklace. I speak from first hand experience that most little girls love 1) gifts and 2) jewelry. I can confirm that Grace falls into the “most” category along with my daughter Abby!

Katy being helped into her dress by her mom and sister, as Paul’s sister also pitches in below…

We paused for a few window-lit portraits before leaving for the ceremony…

While outside on the porch David was doing the same thing with Paul…

And we’re off…

The whole gang making their way to the ceremony at the 3rd tee, which offers a secluded view of the mountains…

Katy being escorted by her father. Both appeared to be enjoying the moment…

As was Paul, photographed by David…

I mentioned the view, right?

Happy bridesmaids.

So, Grace was supposed to join the wedding party up front, but she never actually made it. Two year olds definitely have a mind of their own, and she preferred to sit back by herself and watch. Of course, she occasionally wandered off — at one point heading out to the golf course — but wedding coordinator Sandy Louis was right there, as she always seems to be, and quietly helped coral Grace and keep her safe…

You know, because mom and dad were busy. Uh, Paul? Great capture, David!

Near the end of the ceremony Grace decided the show was best seen from front row…

Yay! Married!

Following the ceremony we rushed through group pictures…

One of my all-time favs…

We rushed so that we could leave. That is, head down the hill to the Jackson waterfalls…

I love the waterfalls…

One of my favorite places for portraits in Jackson is the bridge above the falls. The light seems to always be good here, regardless of time of day…

Headed back to the hotel…

At the Eagle Mountain House, their reception was in the Carriage House…

Reception details photographed by David…

I grabbed a few details of their lovely cake when I arrived…

Just before Katy and Paul arrived for introductions and their first dance…

Melt my heart…

Followed by parent dances…

During dinner we stole away for a few minutes and went back down to the golf course to see if we could catch the sunset behind Carter Notch. I think we did alright…

Back inside the party kicked off with music being spun by Russ of Get Down Tonight

As the party continued on, David and I said our farewells and paused for one final shot before heading back south…

Thank you Katy and Paul for including me in your day, and being so open with your family and generosity. And thanks also to David for your always great images and hard work.
