Ana & Levi: A Mt. Washington Hotel Wedding // NH Wedding Photographer

This past Friday I was once again traveling north to the White Mountains, my favorite place in New England. I was on my way to Ana and Levi’s wedding at the Mt. Washington Hotel, one of my favorite venues in New England. Lucky me! The forecast for the day was a little ominous, with rain and thunderstorms predicted for the afternoon. Consequently, their outdoor wedding on the Jewel Terrace was moved under roof to the South Veranda, which is itself an awesome spot overlooking Crawford Notch. It’s hard to lose at any of the ceremony locations at the Mt. Washington… every way you look is gorgeous. When we arrived the Mt. Washington was veiled in clouds, but run peeked through to the west… at least the temperature was cool. Hints of Fall were lingering. Ana and Levi’s wedding brought people from New Englander, Spain, Mexico among others no doubt, to the beautiful White Mountains to celebrate union that began years prior at summer camp. These families knew each other well, and it was obvious spending the day with them. It seemed as though everyone knew everyone, and although the celebration was fairly large and formal, it felt in other ways like an extended family dinner… which is very cool. So without babbling too long, here’s a peek at Ana and Levi’s big day!

As per usual, when I arrived I made my way to Ana’s suite and began documenting some of the details of the day while the ladies were getting ready…

Ana was glowing when I got there…

Ana’s mother and Maid of Honor help her into her dress…

One of my favorite images of the day…

As the ladies were getting ready to wrap things up, so were Levi and his groomsmen. David spent some time with them and here are a few favorites…

Looking dashing guys!

Back inside there was time for a quick touch up by Ana’s Maid of Honor and then time to go…

Ana makes her way down the grand main staircase as her father Pablo waits for her…

A final glance, captured by David, and show time… Ana being escorted down the isle by her father…

Levi eagerly awaiting her arrival.

Not to shabby a view, eh?

A great perspective on the ceremony captured by David…

Yay!

Moving the ceremony under cover wasn’t a bad idea because 10 minutes following the ceremony the skies unloaded… but it was really pretty to see…

With the rain falling we rushed through family and group portraits. Here is the beautiful wedding party…

Fortunately, the rain stopped as we were wrapping up and we were able to go out to the Jewel Terrace for some portraits. There is always gorgeous light out there in the evenings, made even better by the newlyweds…

Back inside David was documenting the Grand Ballroom. It was looking great…

When I arrived I grabbed these shots of the cake prior to introductions…

And there they are, Mr. and Mrs. looking extremely happy…

Ana and Levi’s reception truly was more of an extended family dinner than modern day reception with loud music and partying. There was a traditional 3 hour meal planned, and guests were serenaded by a string quartet. The mingling and eating was broken by touching speeches and memories given by family and friends. Ana’s best friend and Maid of Honor kicked things off with her speech…

Followed shortly by a speech by Levi’s Best Man, his brother…

Ana’s father gave a toast in their native Spanish, which was translated for the non-Spanish speaking guests…

The last speech was given by Levi’s mother…

During the 3 hour meal, we were able to break away for a few more portraits. The skies were heavy and overcast, and light rain was falling, but that just lent well to these dramatic portraits. On the south lawn…

And again on the veranda…

We also paused for a silhouette at the Hotel’s entrance rotunda…

And a final shot of the evening in the grand entryway of the hotel, with the doors to the Grand Ballroom in the background…

That ended the night for David and I who departed into the misty night for our return to the seacoast while Ana and Levi enjoyed the rest of their evening with their guests.

Ana and Levi, thank you for including me in your special day. You were both such a pleasure to spend the day with. Thanks also to David for your excellent images and help throughout the day.
