Susan & Anthony: A Lanam Club Wedding // MA Wedding Photographer

Last weekend I traveled down to Andover, MA (acting as if that’s really far away!) for Susan and Anthony’s wedding celebration. They are pretty much perfect clients — super kind, laid back, and really into the photographs with some specific ideas of their own. Collaborating with them was truly enjoyable, and I had such a great time spending the day with them and their families!

I began the day at the Lanam Club where Susan was getting ready. I’d never been here before, and I found it to be a secluded gem of a location.

A few details while the ladies flitted around…

The woodwork in the Lanam club is incredible. Dark wood and intricate carvings are EVERYWHERE!

Here’s Susan finishing with her makeup…

Once dressed, Susan looked stunning, and what else would you do after seeing that reflection but twirl?

Before departing for the church we paused for a few shots on the Club’s side lawn…

Flowers were by Forgetta’s Flowers in North Andover…

Ten minutes away, I met up with Anthony at the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Andover. I love the peacock-esque stained glass above the front entry…

When I arrived Anthony was hanging out and we grabbed a few shots before heading inside…

As one of three brothers myself, I like this shot…

Very shortly after heading inside Susan arrived with her father…

These two were cracking me up all night, especially later in the evening on the dance floor.

Here comes the bride…

Great moment. With a four year old little girl at home, I can’t even imagine the emotional swell at this moment…

All smiles…

Susan’s mother played bells for two songs during the ceremony. It was beautiful; I wish a photo could capture it…

Always a great moment walking down the isle together…

Following the ceremony one of the first people to congratulate Susan was her brother who has cerebral palsy. I have to say, I am not sure who was more excited about the nuptials, Susan or her brother. And a triumphant fist bump with Anthony! Right on!

Exiting the church…

Before heading over to the reception, we stopped by the Steven-Coolidge Place for some pictures. The gardens here are incredible.

This little guy hung out with us for just a little while…

There was lots of twirling this day. In this instance, Susan was assisted by Anthony…

Back at the Lanam Club, we blitzed through group and family pictures…

Not only is the woodwork inside the club amazing, the detail on the ceiling is spectacular as well…

Before dinner, Susan and Anthony surprised everyone with a non-traditional first dance  tango, complete with wardrobe change! They know their stuff..

As guests found their seats they were treated to series of humorous, heartfelt and very entertaining toasts. Kicking off were Anthony’s brother and Susan’s father…

Followed by the Best Man and Anthony’s father…

And finally the Mad of Honor and bridesmaids…

Whew! They were still able to sneak in a kiss…

Dinner served, dancing kicked off with parent dances…

Followed by an abundance of merriment…

Susan and Anthony, thank you for having me at your big day. There was so much about your day that was unique and one of a kind, and I’ll likely never forget the tango first dance. That was incredible!
