Marina & Scott: A Searles Castle Wedding // NH Wedding Photographer

Last Friday night I kicked off a busy, fun-filled weekend at Marina and Scott’s wedding celebration at Searles Castle in Windham, NH. I first met Marina and Scott in Boston last Fall, and I’d been looking forward to their wedding day ever since. I knew from that first meeting that this was going to be a fun day, and I wasn’t wrong! With that said, here’s a glimpse at their day…

I’d never been to Searles Castle before, which was completed in 1915 by Edward Searles, and is really a unique piece of architecture in New Hampshire…

I started inside with the Marina and her bridesmaids. The details inside are gorgeous, including those which Marina brought to the castle…

Marina and her mother just before putting on her wedding gown…

Outside, Scott and his groomsmen were arriving, and my friend and talented photographer Lindsay Flanagan was there to greet them. A few portraits before the ceremony…

Back inside Marina was slipping into her gown, followed by a couple of portraits. Then the ladies paused one more minute for a champagne toast before heading downstairs and out to the ceremony…

The dark paneling in the main staircase is so dramatic!

A few details captured by Lindsay prior to the ceremony. Torches lined the processional way…

I watched Scott eagerly waiting, and Marina making her appearance, captured by Lindsay…

Marina escorted by her father…

“Glad to see you…”

“Likewise…”

Where are the archers?

Both of Scott’s sisters did readings during the ceremony. Here’s one…

Sealing the deal…

Always a great moment…

Following the ceremony Scott had a minor wardrobe change, throwing on his Chuck Taylors (great shot, Lindsay), and then we took care of family and group photos…

Then we drove down the hill for some portraits and to also meet up with their four legged “child”…

Marina looked stunning, as did her flowers by Susanne’s Weddings

A great shot by Lindsay…

A final portrait on our way back to introductions and the reception…

Earlier, immediately following the ceremony, Lindsay spent time documenting the incredible decorating of the tent. It looked amazing…

Before introductions I grabbed a few of the cake…

And always a favorite of my sweet tooth, the candy bar… I added the rings 🙂

At the appointed time, Marina and Scott made their big entrance and joined in their first dance…

Which was immediately followed by toasts…

Marina’s made of honor was pretty nervous about her toast, and was convinced it would be a wreck and last about 30 seconds max. She did awesome!

Marina’s dance with her father…

With most of the formalities out of the way, and dinner being served, we wandered out for a few nighttime portraits…

And then the party kicked off…

Marina and Peter, thank you for throwing a great party, and even more so for having me along for the ride. And extra thanks to Lindsay for shooting with me and for her great images.
