Sarah & Michael: An Abenaqui Country Club Wedding // NH Wedding Photographer

September has been a crazy busy month for me, and I’ve gotten a bit behind in my blogging. I’m catching up with a day that was soooo much fun, spent with a couple that is super laid back. I first met Sarah and Michael at a coffee shop in Portsmouth just about a year prior to their wedding day. After hearing a bit about their plans, and even more so a bit about them, I knew I was jonesing to photograph their wedding, and I am glad at some level — maybe not the same — they felt the same way! Their wedding was filled with an enormous amount of laughs, lots of family, hilarious friends and top off with a raging party. I think you will see that coming through loud and clear in the images below.

I began the day with Sarah getting ready at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Portsmouth, NH, starting with a few details…

Sarah was inside having her makeup done…

Yes, she looked stunning!

As did her sister and her bridesmaids…

My friend Lindsay Flanagan joined me for the day, and she was a little south at Michael’s parent’s in Hampton where he and the guys were getting ready. A few great images from Lindsay…

Michael and Sarah’s brother share a laugh…

Looking sharp guys, and the matching Oakley’s pulled it all together!

Back in Portsmouth, we were about to depart for the church as well, but not before a quick shot of the lovely ladies…

A few details captured by Lindsay as she and the guys waited for the ladies to arrive…

An eager groom…

Sarah being accompanied by her father…

The service was filled with laughter…

There you have it; married…

A few family pictures later and it was limo, champagne and off to the beach!

We had a little bit of fun. OK, quite a bit of fun…

The serious pose…

And the not so serious one!

The newlyweds…

We soon had to depart and head back to the Abenaqui Country Club for their reception…

While we were at the beach, Lindsay was busy photographing the tent and all of the beautiful details…

Mmmm… Oreo cupcakes!

At the appointed time, the wedding party made their big entrance in a cavalry of golf carts streaming across the fairway and up to the club!

But, if that wasn’t entrance enough, the wedding party also had their well choreographed introductions to do…

Real her in Mike!

Intros were followed immediately by a first dance…

And then several toasts. Here are the best man and maid of honor, Sarah’s sister…

Sarah’s dance with her father…

And Michael’s dance with his mother…

Formalities finished and dinner being served, we snuck out for a few more portraits in the golden evening light…

The flowers were by Cymbinium Florals, and Jessica’s flowers always look amazing!

After all that Michael was still looking sharp…

After dinner the party kicked off, and what a fine party it was!

Of course the bride is going to lead the conga line around the tent…

And along with her sister teach their mom some new moves on the dance floor…

I love the shot on the right of Michael’s mom and his sisters. Family was a big part of this day, and they enjoyed all of the celebration together…

Don’t drop the groom, don’t drop the groom, don’t drop the groom… or at least that’s the chorus line stuck in my had at this moment…

Sarah and her sister…

Bride and groom on the dance floor…

And bidding the happy couple farewell under sparklers to end the night…

Sarah and Michael, thank you so much for having me on your day. I truly looked forward to it all year, and every aspect lived up to expectation. And special thanks to Lindsay for coming out to the seacoast and joining me for the day.
