Jocelyn & Michael: A Sandy Island Wedding

This past Saturday I took the boat out to Sandy Island Family Camp for Jocelyn and Michael’s wedding. It had been a couple of years since I was last on the island for Leah and Scott’s wedding, and fortunately it wasn’t pouring rain again this time. It was ridiculously hot (like 95+ degrees!), but it was also a stunningly gorgeous day! I was actually out on the island the evening before for Jocelyn and Michael’s rehearsal BBQ where we also did a mini-engagement session, which you can see here if you missed it earlier this week. This was my second camp wedding in as many weeks, and I must say, I love the laid back atmosphere of these events. Everyone tends to be pretty chill — wedding party, family and guests alike — and it is so nice having everything in one place. As David and I arrived, Jocelyn and the girls were relaxing in their cabin, and the guys were milling about the lodge contemplating getting dressed in the heat. Their ceremony took place at the island’s chapel — a beautiful open-air spot right on the water, and a delicious dinner was prepared by the island staff in the dining hall. A couple of toasts, a few drinks and a lot of laughs later the party moved lake-side to the lodge. We wrapped up around 10:30, but I imagine the good times lasted much longer than that! I mean, what better to do when you are on an private island with all of your best friends and family, right? Here’s a look at how the day unfolded…

Thank you Jocelyn and Michael for having me along to document your big day. And special thanks to my good friend David Loehwing for joining me! Great work by the following:
