Jaimi & Matt: An Alyson’s Orchard Wedding

Last weekend, instead of going North or South as I most often seem to do these days, I traveled West to Alyson’s Orchard in Walpole, NH, right on the NH/VT border. David and I hitched the wagons early for the two hour drive, and were shocked to not find any place to eat after leaving Concord. It would seem that lunch would have to wait until dinner for us. That’s alright though… once we met up with Jaimi and Matt there wasn’t time to think about food. The day was gorgeous, and the day’s energy was high… that and the fact that ten bridesmaids and ten groomsmen provide you with lots and lots to photograph! We began at the Inn at Valley Farms where the ladies had taken over the farm house. David joined Matt who was looking for a little more solitude in his parent’s suite next door. By mid-afternoon everyone was ready to head up the hill to the orchard for the ceremony overlooking the beautiful Sarma’s Pond. It’s an idyllic setting nestled amongst apple trees in the middle of the orchard, with views overlooking the surrounding hills. It was a joy to be at the head of the isle as Jaimi processed in with her father while her son stood alongside Matt, both of them beaming! Following the ceremony we cajoled the largest wedding party I’ve ever worked with — 26 people in all — into a few pictures, along with their families, and then I got to spend a little time alone with Jaimi, Matt and Cody. What followed was a great celebration of family and friends, plus a gorgeous sunset (yay!). We had a blast laughing through multiple toasts — Jaimi’s matron of honor story-boarded their life together thus far, including an acting cast, which was hilarious (look for the boards below!) — and dances. It was wonderful to spend the day with these two and their families. Below are a few of my favorite images from the day…

Thank you Jaimi and Matt for being so great to shoot for and spend the day with! And special thanks to David for joining me for the day. Great work by the following:
