Amara & Jaimie: A Notchland Inn Elopement

Last weekend I snuck in one wedding ceremony. I met Amara and Jamie for the first time at the Notchland Inn last Saturday for their elopement. Following significant recent snowfall, the mountains and woods heading into Crawford Notch were a white, winter wonderland, despite some December rain that was falling off and on. I really enjoy elopements. From a photography standpoint, it’s kind of like an engagement shoot with a purpose — you get a lot of time to shoot portraits with the couple, and there is a really important and usually short ceremony that takes place. Often at a “regular” wedding you have a very limited amount of time to spend with the couple, but not so with an elopement. I met up with Amara and Jamie at the cottage they were renting before we headed out into the snow for portraits. We spent about an hour moving all over the property, which was awesome. We headed in to the main Inn building for their ceremony. It’s always an honor to document a wedding ceremony; it is especially so when you’re the only guest! Following the intimate ceremony, we stepped back outside for a few night portraits before I bid farewell. It was a n awesome evening spent with a wonderful couple. Below are some of my favorite images…
