Mountain View Grand Resort Wedding – Judy & Huan
August 6, 2014
Judy and Huan’s Mountain View Grand Resort wedding was jam packed with action. It seemed that every moment, everywhere you turned, something what going on. It had been quite awhile since I had photographed a Chinese wedding, so I was excited for all of the traditions, but had forgotten how fast-paced things are. We started as Judy and Huan were each getting ready, which led into some traditional Chinese door games. It was a riot as Huan and the groomsmen tried to prove their worthiness to join Judy and her bridemaids. Pushups, Tabasco sauce shots, all sorts of things. This was followed by a tea ceremony, and then a traditional U.S. wedding ceremony, after a change of dresses for Judy, of course. A few portraits — including a couple of goats — and we were off to the reception, which truly was non-stop! All of the usual fanfare ensued — toasts, first dance, parent dances, bouquet toss, etc. — with the addition of numerous Chinese wedding games. Oh yeah, there were bananas, whipped cream, balloons… you know crazy stuff! It was a blast, and we even snuck in some sunset photos. It’s impossible to include everything in one blog post, so what follows below are some of my favorites from the day. Hang on!
Thank you Judy and Huan for having us at your wedding. And thanks to Sarah Vanessa Photography for joining me for the day!
