Granite Rose Wedding Photos – Annie & Brendan

December weddings in New England usually bring cold temperatures, snow, and frozen fingers. However, Annie and Brendan’s wedding day had other plans.

Instead, they were greeted with unusually warm temperatures, low clouds, and heavy fog. Although the weather was unexpected, it created a dramatic atmosphere that fit their day perfectly. The soft light and fog added depth to the photographs and made the entire property feel quiet and intimate.

I met Annie and Brendan at [Venue Name] shortly before their first look. As soon as they saw each other, the nerves began to disappear. It was one of those moments that reminds me why I love photographing weddings. The emotions were real, and they finally had a chance to slow down and spend a few quiet moments together before the celebration began.

Meanwhile, we completed family photographs indoors while everyone was still nearby. Afterward, we headed outside for portraits around the property. Because the skies remained overcast, the light stayed soft and even throughout the afternoon. At the same time, the fog added a layer of atmosphere that made every location feel a little different.

Fortunately, the warm weather allowed Annie and Brendan to hold their ceremony outside in the garden. An outdoor ceremony in New England during December is rare. However, the mild temperatures made it possible. As guests gathered, the fog surrounding the grounds created a beautiful and intimate setting for their vows.

Later in the afternoon, the clouds began to break just enough to reveal some incredible color in the sky. As a result, we stepped outside for a few more portraits before the reception really kicked off. Those few minutes produced some of my favorite images from the entire day.

Inside, the reception was full of energy, laughter, and a packed dance floor. Finally, we ended the evening with sparkler photographs in the back garden. It was the perfect way to finish an unforgettable day.

Although New England weather rarely follows the rules, days like this are a good reminder that the unexpected often creates the most memorable moments. Annie and Brendan’s wedding was warm, emotional, and full of surprises from beginning to end.

Below are some of my favorite images from their December wedding.
