Any wedding that is a little bit different gets bonus points in my book, and Liz and Matt’s Lake Winnipesaukee Lake House wessing was that and then some! They planned their wedding from afar, and in doing so they pulled together a great team and a one-of-a-kind day.

We met up with Liz and Matt as they were getting ready; Liz on-property and Matt in Wolfeboro. They met up for a first look back at The Laughing Look (the private residence where the festivities would take place) moments before guests began to arrive. Their ceremony took place right at the edge of the lake. Lakeside weddings are always beautiful to see but can be difficult to photograph. We lucked out with some clouds and a 600w flash to balance the light a little bit more 🙂

We enjoyed the evening light for some portraits while guests took in the view from the house’s multiple decks. The reception was held under a tent also on the beach. You don’t get too many NH weddings with a dance floor on the sand! Guests made their way back to the tent, and were followed by Liz and Matt and their first dance as a married couple. A handful of really great toasts welcomed guests and entertained us all, and then the party took over. There was only a brief break in the music and dancing for a large drum circle. A tradition in Liz’s family, it was cool to see all of their guests circled around the dance floor making music led by Liz’s mom. Rest assured that only energized the party more, which continued strong to the very end.
