The Newbury Hotel Wedding Photos – Michelle & Allan

Michelle and Allan were married in Boston, and celebrated at one of my favorite downtown hotels, The Newbury Boston. I photograph here one or two times each year, and it is always a treat. It seems like exceptional couples are somehow drawn to this venue, as every couple I have worked with here have been among my favorites.

I met up with Michelle as she was getting ready. The scene was a little chaotic — as it often is on a wedding day — but some family stepped right in to keep everything and everyone right on track. Michelle and Allan had a first look in the Public Garden across the street before the trolley and limo came to pick everyone up and whisk them off to the church.

Following the ceremony, we returned to the Public Garden for portraits with Michelle and Allan and their families, and then it was back to the Taj for the reception. Sometimes receptions are pretty formulaic, and sometimes they are so personal it’s amazing. This one fell into the latter camp. From the heartfelt toasts to Michelle’s father’s singing/guitar performance, or the slideshow put together by Allan’s parents… so much of the “formalities” were anything but. The coup de grace, to me, was Michelle and her siblings performing for everyone (such a talented family!). It was an incredible day, and I am thrilled to finally share some of it below…
