A Red Barn at Hampshire College Wedding – Brenna & Andrew

Brenna and Andrew were married last summer at the Red Barn at Hampshire College. Brenna’s father is a long-time climbing friend of mine, and I was super excited to hear that 1) Brenna was engaged, and 2) they were looking for a photographer who could document the day. I first “met” Brenna probably 16 or 17 years ago, picking up her dad for a climbing trip to NY. Needless to say, she’s grown up a lot, and it was great to reconnect with the family.

I was joined for the day by my good friend Matt, and we met up with Brenna and Andrew as they were getting ready in adjacent rooms. I cannot confirm or deny if at one point ring bearer in a horse mask was running up and down the hall! Despite this hilarious distraction, we all were able to meet up for a first look prior to the ceremony. The ceremony was setup under a big, old tree in the back field. The ceremony itself was short and sweet, and was officiated by a friend, which always adds a personal — and often funny — touch. A highlight for the day for me, and one of my favorite images, was when Brenna’s father walked her down the aisle. Both Rick and Brenna looked so happy, and it was so great to see.

Following the ceremony everyone headed back to the barn for music, drinks, food and festivities. A few toasts were give, including a poem by Brenna’s mom, and music was performed by close friends. All afternoon Brenna and Andrew exchanged inside looks and laughs, and the connection between them was obvious to everyone.

As the reception came to an end, we were able to sneak outside for a few golden hour portraits to wrap things up. Below are some of my favorite images from this very special day…

Thank you Brenna and Andrew for having us at your wedding. A big thanks to Matt Grazier for spending the day shooting with me. Great work by the following folks…
