Frye Island Engagement Session – Natalia & Boris

Natalia and Boris’ Frye Island engagement session was a fun one! I get to travel to some pretty cool places each year. Sometimes shoots take me further away, like to the Cayman Islands or New Orleans. And sometimes I get to go to very cool places right close to home. Such was the case for Natalia and Boris’ engagement session on Frye Island on Sebago Lake. Only accessible via boat, Frye Island is a mini destination right in my backyard.

I met Natalia and Boris at the ferry terminal. We started the session on the far end of the island on a beautiful sandy beach with Fall colors rimming the lake. We had plans to do some pictures with their two dogs, however, while out on the beach the dogs stepped on the auto-lock on Boris’ truck… and the keys were inside. Doh! We all piled into my car (thank goodness I usually drive separately because of all of my equipment) and finished the shoot moving around the island to various (awesome) locations. We finished the session at Natalia’s parent’s house, shoot on the dock and rocky beach. Unfortunately, we did not get any photos with the pups, but were were able to “break in” to Boris’ truck after dark and free the distraught pooches. Despite the setback, it was a great session and a wonderful location.
