Last week, I headed up the coast to York for Kate and Jeff’s coastal Maine wedding at Dockside Restaurant. While I often find myself photographing weddings in Boston or the White Mountains, spending the day on the Maine coast was a welcome change. After all, it’s hard to beat an oceanfront wedding in Maine.

Kate and Jeff both got ready on-site at the Dockside Restaurant. However, they made sure to avoid each other until their first look just before the ceremony. That moment gave us time to capture a series of relaxed, candid portraits along the water before joining their families for formal photos.

Their ceremony took place overlooking the ocean and was officiated by a close friend. Because of that, it felt especially personal and meaningful. Coastal Maine weddings like this one often combine stunning scenery with heartfelt moments, and this day was no exception.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails, fresh coastal cuisine, and time together by the water. As the reception got underway, the energy continued to build. There were thoughtful toasts, lively dancing, and even a perfectly choreographed father-daughter dance that had everyone smiling.

Later in the evening, we stepped outside for sunset portraits along the coast. The soft light over the ocean created the perfect backdrop to close out the day. From there, the celebration carried on with a packed dance floor and plenty of joyful moments.

Overall, this York Maine wedding at Dockside Restaurant was everything you’d want in a coastal celebration—beautiful views, a relaxed atmosphere, and a couple who truly enjoyed every moment.
