NH Farm Engagement Photos – Erica & Josh
Erica and Josh planned their NH farm engagement photos on a warm, sunny evening in May. Instead of choosing a busy public location, they held their engagement session at their own farm. I always love when couples choose a place that feels personal and meaningful. Not only did the setting reflect their everyday life together, but it also created a relaxed atmosphere from the start. They even included their pup, which added even more personality and comfort to the session.
Like many couples, Erica and Josh felt nervous about being photographed. In fact, this concern comes up in almost every engagement photography consultation. Most people rarely step in front of a professional camera, so nerves are completely normal. Fortunately, a few simple strategies can help couples feel comfortable and confident during their engagement session.
First, choose a familiar location for your engagement photos. Erica and Josh knew every corner of their property, so they relaxed almost immediately. Instead of worrying about crowds or unfamiliar surroundings, they focused on spending time together. As we explored the farm and soaked up the warm evening light, their confidence grew naturally.
Another great way to reduce engagement session nerves is to treat the experience like a date night instead of a photo shoot. Talk to each other, laugh together, and enjoy the moment. Rather than focusing on perfect poses, focus on connecting with your partner. Genuine interaction almost always creates the most natural engagement photos.
Comfortable clothing also helps couples feel more relaxed in front of the camera. Choose outfits that feel authentic and easy to wear. When you feel comfortable, your confidence shows in every image. Bringing a dog or another meaningful element into the session can also help create a more relaxed environment.
By the end of the evening, Erica and Josh looked completely comfortable in front of the camera. We spent the session wandering the property, enjoying the beautiful light, and capturing genuine moments together. Their engagement photos felt natural, relaxed, and true to who they are as a couple.
You do not need modeling experience to have amazing engagement photos. A meaningful location, a relaxed mindset, and a little guidance can make all the difference.
