Portsmouth NH Family Photos

Yesterday I spent the evening with Heather, Charlie, Branson, Sage, and three-and-a-half-week-old Sabrina for their Portsmouth NH family photos. Rather than meeting at a park or beach, we photographed the session at their home. It’s always fun when a family can relax in a place that already feels comfortable and familiar.

The main goal was to create an updated family portrait after welcoming Sabrina. At the same time, we wanted to document the energy and personalities of Branson and Sage. Anyone with young kids knows that the best moments usually happen when they’re free to run, play, and simply be themselves.

I had photographed their family during a larger extended family session a while back, so it was great to see everyone again. The kids had grown so much, and it was fun watching them take over the backyard. Between the slide, skate bikes, and plenty of running around, they kept the evening moving at full speed.

Sessions like these are a great reminder that family photos don’t have to be perfectly posed. Some of my favorite images come from real interactions and genuine moments. Those are the photographs that tend to mean the most years down the road.

I think we accomplished everything we set out to do. We created a beautiful new family portrait, documented this exciting season with their newest addition, and had plenty of fun along the way.

Here are a few favorites from their Portsmouth, New Hampshire family photo session.
