Jillian and Bryan’s State Room Boston wedding was the perfect way to close out my 2015 wedding season. Better yet, their elegant New Year’s Eve celebration combined luxury, stunning city views, and an unforgettable midnight countdown in the heart of Boston.

David and I began the day at the Ames Hotel, where everyone was getting ready. Upstairs, the bridesmaids were busy with hair and makeup while excitement filled the room. Meanwhile, the groomsmen relaxed and shared plenty of laughs just down the street.

Before heading to the ceremony, Jillian and Bryan shared a private first look outside the hotel. Not only did this give them a chance to spend a few quiet moments together, but it also allowed us to create some beautiful portraits before the festivities began.

From there, we made our way to the State Room, one of the most iconic luxury wedding venues in Boston. Located high above the city, the venue offers breathtaking panoramic views of Boston Harbor and the downtown skyline. As a result, it provides an incredible backdrop for both ceremonies and receptions.

Their ceremony took place in front of the State Room’s signature floor-to-ceiling windows. During the evening hours, the sparkling city lights created a dramatic and romantic setting. The view overlooking Boston Harbor was absolutely stunning and made the ceremony feel even more memorable.

Throughout the night, the city of Boston continued to play an important role in their wedding photography. Later in the evening, we slipped outside for a few nighttime portraits around Faneuil Hall. Because the holiday season was still in full swing, the festive lights created a magical atmosphere. At the same time, crowds filled the streets for Boston’s First Night celebrations.

As soon as people spotted Jillian in her wedding gown, the attention was immediate. In fact, it felt as though Jillian and Bryan had become celebrities for the evening. Everywhere they went, people stopped to congratulate them, admire the dress, and cheer them on. It was unexpected, but it added an extra layer of excitement to an already incredible day.

Back inside the State Room, the celebration continued as guests filled the dance floor and counted down the final moments of the year. Then, at midnight, fireworks exploded over Boston Harbor as everyone welcomed the New Year together.

Of course, we couldn’t let that moment pass without one final portrait. Against the backdrop of the fireworks and city skyline, Jillian and Bryan shared a quiet moment together. The resulting image became one of my favorite wedding photographs of the entire year.
